     Information

Following ten years in Herzogenaurach the school built and relocated to a new campus in Erlangen for school year 2008-2009.  Now in its second year in Erlangen, the FIS is nearing an enrollment of 500 students.

All students benefit from our facilities which include a double sports hall, a library, art rooms, music rooms, a theatre and state of the art computer facilities.   Contemporary science labs for biology, chemistry and physics have been designed to support the FIS curriculum through Grade 12.

The school offers an initial curriculum using units of the International Primary Curriculum in the Kindergarten and Elementary School (Grades 1-4) areas.  While moving to a more departmentalized structure in both the Middle School (Grades 5-8), and the upper grades in the High School (Grades 9-12) we conclude the school's program with the external exam based programs. The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) runs in Grades 9-10 and has the students sit an external exam at the end of Grade Ten.  In Grades 11 and 12, both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Track, with its final exams in the spring of Grade 12, and a FIS Diploma Track for high school students are on offer.

With a new sports hall as part of our campus, the school's sports program is poised to expand.  Competitions in soccer, volleyball and basketball are seen in the coming school year.

External parts of the FIS program, including lunch program, school transport, and after school sports are discussed further on our web page.
