Campus

A house like a second home

Most of the students at the FIS are a long way from home. For this reason, the architecture of our campus seeks to blend the philosophy of the school with the familiar warmth of a home away from home.

The FIS moved to a new purpose-built campus in Erlangen in August of 2008. The new facility can house a maximum of 550 students before further expansion is necessary.

The new facility includes state of the art Science labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology, two art rooms, two music rooms, a library, a double sports hall, 27 classrooms, multiple small group teaching rooms, two computer labs, a cafeteria, staff work rooms and offices, and a theatre. Outside facilities include a 100m track, small sports field, playground, and parking for both students and teachers. The school is located within walking distance of the municipal Olympic pool and oval.

Construction of a further expansion of the High School including theatre facilities have started in May 2011.
